Because looking after your mental health and wellbeing shouldn’t mean trying to become someone you’re not.
Discover different ways to look after yourself, find what works for you, and enjoy life.
Have you reached a point in your life where you know something needs to change, but you’re either not quite sure what that is or maybe you don’t know how to make these changes?
Or are you fed up with being told what you should be doing to feel better, when you’ve already tried so many things that just haven’t worked for you.
Perhaps you are sick of doubting yourself and the decisions you want to make, maybe you’re weary from the weight of fears from the past influencing what you want to do today, or anxiety paralysing the way you live your life.
Maybe life has knocked you a lot or a little and you do not feel great about yourself or even like yourself, or you feel like you have lost enjoyment in living.
Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to have all the answers or know exactly what needs to change. That’s something we can help you work through together.
Imagine what life could feel like if you were kinder to yourself. If the way your mind spoke to you was on your side rather than constantly criticising, doubting or questioning everything you do.
Being able to make decisions and trust your own judgement, knowing that if something doesn’t work out, it doesn’t mean you’ve failed so spectacularly that you should never trust yourself again. Having the confidence to try things, without fear always convincing you that the worst is going to happen.
Imagine being able to enjoy where you are in life, even if you’re not yet where you want to be. To recognise that you don’t have to rush or push your way through to get to where you want to be. That the journey itself is part of your life, and it’s worth enjoying too.
Having more room in your head and your life for the people and things that matter to you, and enjoying moments that in the past might have passed you by because you were so stuck in your own head or thoughts.
And knowing that when difficult times come, as they inevitably will, you might struggle, doubt yourself or slip back into old ways of thinking. But those moments don’t have to define your whole life. You can be having a bad time without believing you have a bad life.
Being OK with yourself isn’t about having all the answers or getting everything right. It’s about being able to live your life, enjoy the journey and feel that you’re enough, exactly where you are today.

At Walking with Eris, we’re not proclaiming to have the ultimate model or framework that if you just follow these steps, all that is dark and heavy within will magically disappear.
Instead, through our coaching and wellbeing tools and resources, we’re here to listen, share our own lived experiences where they might be helpful, and help you make sense of what you’re experiencing.
We give you the space and support to explore different ways of looking after your mental health and wellbeing, to discover what being OK with yourself means to you and find your own ways of getting there.
And if something doesn’t work? That’s OK too. It doesn’t mean you’ve failed or done anything wrong. It simply means you’ve learned something about what does and doesn’t suit you.
We believe there’s no one right way to look after your mental health and wellbeing. We’re all different, and what helps one person might not help another. Even the things that work really well for you now might not be what you need further down the line.

Our vision is for people to know that they are enough, to treat themselves with kindness and to feel comfortable being themselves. For people to have the confidence to trust their own judgement, make choices that feel right for them and be present in their lives, enjoying the moments that make life worth living.
Because everyone deserves the opportunity to live their life, not simply exist within it.
Our services are here to help people feel safely supported, and to try different things to help actively look after their mental health through whatever wellbeing practices work for them.
Whether someone works with us directly through coaching or uses our resources in their own time, we’re still here to listen, talk things through and offer the opportunity to be part of a community of people on similar journeys.

We believe that looking after our mental health and wellbeing is an ongoing journey, something that can be both beautiful and challenging.
Whether you’re working with us through coaching or using our wellbeing tools and resources, we encourage you to be curious, try different things and enjoy the process, because how you choose to do this is entirely up to you, and there’s no single right way.

Walking with Eris grew from personal experiences and conversations with others who had faced similar struggles with their mental health.
Two things kept coming up.
Sometimes people weren’t ready or comfortable talking and wanted tools and resources they could use privately, in their own time.
When they did want to talk, they wanted a safe space to explore things for themselves, without being treated as a problem that needed fixing.
Our aim is to develop online services and resources accessible by any adult living in the UK. Currently, we regularly share wellbeing power tool techniques via social media.
Where applicable, through financial support from donation or grant awards from trusts and foundations, we provide our services free of charge or at a substantially reduced costs.
This is currently available within Cambridgeshire and Essex.
There’s a personal story behind our name, and it starts with a horse called Eris.
Growing up, our founder, Susie, had a horse who was also her friend. Eris gave her confidence, helped her through difficult times and made her feel like she could fly.
Years later, when looking for a name for the organisation, she wanted to start, Susie came across the story of Eris, the Greek goddess, the name immediately reminded her of her old friend, but something else resonated too.
In Greek mythology, Eris is associated with two sides of strife. One brings conflict, rivalry and destruction, while the other can encourage people to grow, develop and achieve things they might not otherwise have attempted. Two very different sides of something we usually think of as entirely negative.
This idea of duality, where two seemingly opposite experiences can exist at the same time, also reflects something we believe about looking after our mental health and wellbeing. It can be incredibly difficult and, at the same time, incredibly beautiful. You might still struggle with self-doubt, for example, but begin finding the courage to make decisions you previously felt too afraid to make. Both experiences can exist alongside each other.
And that’s part of what Walking with Eris represents. Looking after our mental health isn’t always easy, but it can also be one of the most beautiful experiences we can give ourselves.

These are some of the changes people have experienced through working with us in their own words
Your journey, your way.
Rays of sunshine are coming into the box that I thought I was going to be trapped in forever.
I feel lighter and my stomach isn’t as tight, and I don’t feel like I am screaming inside.
I feel like the jewels of me are coming back to the surface.
What I feel matters and doesn’t have to be ignored; I have my own voice.
The idea that I could have a happy future is something that I am now rebuilding after thinking I could never have one.
I’m learning that I can talk kindly to myself and that I can make mistakes now and not get punished for them.
It doesn’t feel like a crime anymore to allow myself the time I need to complete a task.
I am making more progress than I think, I’m happier. I used to not follow through and now I’m starting to do that and feel more capable.
